Markéta Baňková působí na naší kulturní scéně jako výtvarnice a experimentátorka s Internetem. Ve svých projektech Mesto.html (www.city.je) a New York City Map (www.nycmap.com) využívá nových možností, jako je kombinace obrazu, textu, animací, zvuků a interaktivity.
V roce 2000 se autorka odhodlává k částečnému "coming out" - tedy odhalení svých do té doby před veřejností skrývaných skutečností o své osobě. Výtvarnice přiznává, že je ve skutečnosti androidem, (XB-g 16. generace, podle odhadů našich odborníků), vyslaným ze souhvězdí Transylvánie za účelem zkoumání pozemského života. Baňková dodává, že je jednou z více účastníků výzkumné expedice, však kvůli obavám z xenofobie obyvatel Země většina posádky doposud raději zůstává v anonymitě.
Výstava dokumentárních fotografií Země - obrazů počítačového formátu JPG, určených pro Institut meziplanetárního výzkumu v Transylvánii, budiž prvním krokem k vzájemnému pochopení, toleranci a možná i přátelství našich tak rozdílných vesmírných civilizací.

Marketa Bankova is active on our cultural scene as an artist and experimenter with the Internet. In her projects City.html (www.city.je) and New York City Map (www.nycmap.com) she has been exploiting new technical possibilities such as the combination of image, text, sounds and interactivity.
In the year 2000 the artist took the long and difficult decision to "come out" and she has now admitted that she is in reality an android, (XB-g 16th generation, as far as our experts can determine), sent from the constellation of Transylvania to study life on Earth. Bankova adds that she is actually one of several members of the research expedition, but the others would prefer to remain anonymous since they are alarmed at human xenophobia. It is hoped that this exhibition of documentary photographs of Earth - images in JPG computer format made for the Institute of Interplanetary Research in Transylvania will be the first step towards mutual understanding, tolerance and perhaps even friendship between our two very different civilisations.
